Life before joining was quite lonely and many days could easily go by without me leaving the house.

I work from home and despite having a great network of friends and family nobody really understands how I feel inside.

I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. Over the past few years I’ve become increasingly lazy I suppose and began to feel defeated with the whole weight loss thing and diet attempts.

My weight stops me from doing so much stuff. At the moment I won’t even go on a flight and I tend to only choose restaurants and cafes where I know the chairs are comfortable for me! I’m missing out on so much and I guess I have just got to the point where I knew I had to change.

JC Fitness was recommended to me by my husband .. I did a bit of research and I noticed that the bootcamp training was aimed at people with over 3 stone to lose .. it certainly grabbed my attention so I signed up for a free taster session .. quickly before I had the chance to change my mind!! I hardly slept the night before .. I was so anxious! I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do it and I was worried that it was going to be super clicky and that nobody would talk to me! I was also worried about parking but Connor sent me a video showing me exactly where to park and how to get in.

I woke up on my first morning and couldn’t really think of an excuse that outweighed the possible benefits so I made it in, loved it and signed up straight after the first class .. and I have been 5 days a week for just over 2 weeks now

The best thing about JC Fitness is the people! I don’t feel out of place or judged. Everyone has been super welcoming and we have a laugh. It’s not taken too seriously and I feel I can exercise safely within my limits whilst also pushing myself as I get fitter.

Tyre flipping, Boxing, Hammer Slaps, Battling Ropes and Weightlifting are all things I’d be way too scared to try on my own and so much more fun with friends

My advice to someone thinking about it is to just do it! It sounds really obvious but turning up the first time is a LOT .. I suffer massively from anxiety but it’s such a friendly environment and it’s definitely more fun than exercising alone .. plus I’m home for 8am with a fresh sense of achievement and smugness!!

I was apprehensive about joining due to not having exercised for years and thinking I would look stupid and not be able to keep up in class, I was worried what people would think of me and concerned I wouldn’t know what to do . The first day I went all my fears were alleviated the class are very friendly were very welcoming and are very supportive having Connor there ensures you use the right techniques and he explains the benefits of different activities, he also teaches you the correct stretches for your personal needs. You go at your own speed and ability and are motivated to push yourself as it is right for you. It is the first time I have ever enjoyed exercise in a safe, fun and beneficial way!

A great way to start the day. Different routines everyday that work upper and lower body and core. No need to be an Olympic athlete and a good group who attend, so abit of banter at the same time. Arrive at work feeling energised and ready for the day ahead.
