The JC Fitness Guide to Christmas Parties and Pints

Realistic. No shame. Just balance that actually works.

1. Eat Like a Grown-Up Not a Gremlin

Let’s get this straight: you’re allowed to enjoy food.

You don’t need to pile your plate like it’s your last supper and you don’t need to pick at a dry salad in the corner either.

🎯 Your move:

  • Fill your plate once
  • Slow down
  • Eat the stuff you actually enjoy
  • Stop when you’re satisfied, not stuffed

This isn’t about “being good.” It’s about being in control

2. Drink Smarter (Without Skipping the Pint)

You don’t have to go teetotal but you also don’t need to sink 10 just because it’s “festive.”

🎯 Your move:

  • Decide in advance how many pints you actually want
  • Alternate booze with water
  • Eat before drinking (not after three pints and a kebab)
  • Avoid showing up starving you’ll inhale everything in sight

Having a plan doesn’t mean saying no to fun. It means saying yes to not feeling like crap the next day.

3. Don’t “Make Up For It” the Next Day

This is a big one.

You had a few pints and a plate of pigs in blankets? Great. Don’t starve yourself the next day to “undo” it.
That’s how you end up stuck in the binge-restrict cycle.

🎯 Your move:

  • Wake up
  • Have a glass of water
  • Get a decent breakfast in
  • Go for a walk
  • Carry on as normal

The best “reset” is simply getting back to basics not punishing yourself.

4. Move When You Can Not to Burn Calories, But to Feel Better

A walk the morning after. A few push-ups in the living room. A light stretch after a long night out.

It’s not about “earning your calories.” It’s about keeping your energy up, clearing your head, and staying in the habit.

🎯 Your move:

  • Keep your body ticking over
  • Even 10–15 minutes is a win
  • You’ll feel better for it especially after a few pints

5. Guilt is the Enemy Not the Food or Drink

At JC Fitness, we don’t do shame.
We don’t tell you to cut out mince pies or “detox” after parties.
We believe in building a plan that includes real life because that’s the only kind that lasts.

🎯 Your move:

  • Enjoy the moment
  • Don’t label food as “bad”
  • Don’t beat yourself up
  • Get back to your normal routine the next day

A few social events don’t undo your progress giving up on yourself does.

You’re allowed to celebrate.

I work with both Men and Women who are struggling with their weight and see it spiraling out of control. They avoid social situations and anything that requires physical effort. Just a small walk to an event can put them off going. They have tried lots of different weight loss programs and nothing ever lasts, yet the weight still comes back on and if not more.
